I've been using Saam for about 7 years now. I'm constantly surprised at how so few needles can be so surprisingly effective.
I think the "six qi" aspect of diagnosis and then choosing which channels to use has been one of the things with Saam that I now see and regularly use in my clinical work. I'm not sure why these relationships haven't been pointed out or used in other acupuncture traditions. It's one of those things that once you "see" it, so many previously confusing clinical presentations begin to make sense.
Looking forward to the conversations here in this discussion group with all of you.
Hello Jump Start participants!
I’m part of the Qiological Sound and Motion Lab Team, and I’ve been practicing since 2001, and using Saam clinically since 2019. It’s become a core part of my practice, and I’m excited to share and learn with all of you.
Let’s get this forum buzzing! Post your questions, share your insights, and let’s make this space a place for connection, curiosity, and camaraderie. Ask away—your curiosity could spark someone else’s “aha” moment!
Hi, Saam acupuncture is a completely new concept to me and my brain is upside down.
Hey, this is my second attempt to incorporate SaAm into my practice. The first time didn't take. The Jump Start! is a great idea. I primarily use orthopedic/Trigger point/motor point/E-stim for MSK pain conditions and Tung/Balance method for everything else. I'm hoping to get it to stick this time.
@kb Ha ha, yes it will turn your brain upside down at first. Keep at it, you'll see things that you were not previously able to recognize!
@jonathan-walker, yes it can take some practice and it helps to discuss the method. So use this forum to get your questions answered. In my experience one of the most helpful things in the beginning to attend to the six qi aspect. Start to look for that in ALL your patients. Even if you don't "see" it at first. Look for it. It's like any other diagnostic parameter, the more you use it, the more information it will give you over time
