Learning the basics of promoting or controlling the flow of qi through the Five Phases is an elemental part of every acupuncturist's training. We learn how the antique points can be used to nudge a response or invite a different kind of resonance into a patient's life.

The Korean Saam acupuncture tradition began with the penetrating insight into acupuncture by the hermit monk Saam. This tradition has been passed down through a lineage of monastic practitioners, as well as in secular and academic traditions.

Today the Saam tradition pulls from numerous influences and while popular and commonly used in Korea, it is only recently finding its way into mainstream acupuncture practice in the West.

What is a Chautauqua?

In the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries summer gatherings called Chautauquas were a way for people to gather together with the intention to edify and entertain, improve the mind and bring culture and enlightenment to the heart and mind.

The devotion of the presenters coupled with the enthusiasm of the audience heightened the exploration to bring forth the best in human values and the enrichment of life. Here at Qiological, we don’t simply wax nostalgic, instead we seek to invoke the spirit of this enlightening and inspiring tradition.

So we bring you— The Saam Chautauqua.

Qiological is delighted to offer you this unique summertime experience.

Join us for our virtual big tent revival focused on ALL THINGS Saam! We hearken back to a pre-pandemic era when you’d go to a workshop and enjoy not only the subject matter but the lively schmoozing amongst colleagues.

It helped ground the material and bring it alive— right?

That is exactly what we are aiming for.

“When you’ve got a Chautauqua in your head, it’s extremely hard not to inflict it on innocent people.”
― Robert M. Pirsig
